Before & After: Monthly Sales Report Demo, sample data

The same numbers, two ways: the spreadsheet the owner used to squint at, and the redesigned view.

Typical problems: no totals, mixed number formats, a blank month, codes instead of names, and no way to see the trend.

What changed (changelog)

  1. Headline numbers up top. This month, the 12-month total and the best month are the first thing you see, with a plain-English comparison to last month.
  2. A trend instead of a wall of numbers. One chart shows the seasonal pattern, with a 3-month average to smooth out one-off weeks. The blank month was filled in from the source data.
  3. Names, totals and formatting. Product codes became names, every number uses the same currency format, and month-over-month changes are colored so problems stand out.
  4. Works on a phone. The layout stacks on small screens, and the text passes contrast checks.
